October By: Joey

In math, we learned about the formulas for figuring the area and perimeter of squares, rectangles, triangles, parallelograms and complex figures. The complex figures were pretty hard because you had to break it down into separate figures and then calculate it.
In social studies we learned about ancient Egypt and how mummies were mummified. To help study for our test on ancient Egypt, we created an ancient Egypt board game in teams. Then, we had to evaluate each member of our team. We also started to learn about Mesopotamia.
We also learned about the different biomes of the world in science. Mrs. Fulfer had a biome contest where we had to research and explain about the biome that we thought Mrs. Fulfer would like to live in. I chose a tropical forest for the biome because I figured Mrs. Fulfer would like the warm weather and cool animal life.
In language arts, we are reading our books and need to fill in a conference log about what we read each day. I think my book is pretty cool.
