6th Grade Highlights By: Ally
Language Arts
My highlights for language arts are the days we used the skill book because I liked searching for the correct pages and using them as references. I also liked the times we read the plays in the skill book because the plays were interesting and the questions were even more interesting.
Science
My highlights for science would be the space unit because I really liked the board games we made and how we answered certain questions at certain times in the packet we got. I also liked the Earth, Sun, and Moon Dance we did where we had to make up a dance using the seasons and the way the Earth turns on an axis. I think science was my favorite subject beside Social Studies with projects.
Social Studies
My highlights for social studies would have to be the days we made projects, like the volcanoes and mountains or earthquakes, and what the continents would look like together before continental drift happened. I really liked building a building to with stand an earthquake and almost every group’s building didn’t fall over, including ours.
Math
My highlights in math are playing the games like 24 and having math-chats because in math-chats we can get help without getting in trouble and in 24 we can win candy and it’s fun playing it because of the expressions everyone makes when they get it right or wrong. I also like the projects because we get groups and it’s a break from ALEKS.
Best Memory
The best memory of the school year would probably be the trench-ball tournament because we got second out of all the teams in 6th grade and we had fun playing the other teams and playing with the high schoolers on our team. It was also hard when we played a couple really good teams like the team that got first. It was still fun even though we lost.
I’ll Miss
I think I’ll miss seeing my friends everyday because I don’t think we have any of the same classes and I’ll also miss having a very simple schedule and being used to having the same schedule all year not just one semester.
