6th Grade Highlights By: Jenni
L.A. Reading
The highlight for me in L.A. reading was the reading groups we got to pick them and it was really fun working together. I don’t really like reading and don’t do it often but it was truly fun to read together in a group. And I hope that we get to do that next year in middle school too.
Science
In science it was really fun to make a volcano and watch others explode. My partner was Annika the day before we accidently made it explode with the help from Emma and salt. And we used the salt the next day and it worked again. It was really fun to do the volcanoes.
Math
Math too many kids math was boring and sometimes hard but the last week of school was the best because we played different math practice games and math was finally fun. I tried games such as, Diffy, real world problems and sink or swim. It was really fun and I wish we could do that the whole year.
Social Studies
My favorite part of social studies was planning for the Medieval Faire. I thought that it was even more fun to work it and plan than actually going to it as a 4th or 5th grader. I wish that I could help next year too. I made a lot of the crowns and a few of the small shields.
Favorite memory
My favorite memory was boating and helping restore the pond. It was fun lifting rocks. Our class painted fences, moved gravel to restore the path again and after that we went boating. It was really fun and I wish we could go boating again or even canoeing. And that was my favorite memory from this year.
What I’m going to miss the most
I’m going to miss going to Horizon school and even more going t miss the awesome teachers here. This year our class was beast and awesome; the best class I have ever had. And I love Horizon and I don’t want to move on to middle school. And that’s what I’m going to miss the most this year.
